Ruza Spak
The artist Ruza Spak is especially known for the colorful synthesis of abstraction and figurative in her oil paintings. She was born in Poland but studied at the Kunsthochschule Hamburg and graduated from Art Academy in Berlin. After her graduation she was awarded the DAAD fellowship in Rome, Italy. Her work has recently been shown at the Claus M Halle Institute in Atlanta, at the Goethe Institut, the Fitzpatrick,Troyer, Lassman Gallery in Washington DC, the Texas Union Art Gallery in Austin, and at the Kunstverein Schering in Berlin. Furthermore her art has been printed on the cover of the Los Angeles Times and of the monthly magazine Cicero. In addition to her painting, Spak has some experience in film making. She has made experimental films that have been shown in London, Berlin, and New York, and wrote scripts in cooperation with Bavaria films. The artist currently resides in Berlin.
