Andres Tremols

“Made in Santiago de Cuba”, born in Washington, DC, Tremols spent his childhood and adolescence in Central and South America and currently resides in the Washington DC metropolitan area. He received a Bachelor or Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with continued experimental studies at the Corcoran School or Art and Design in Washington, DC.
Commitment to his Cuban heritage and insights from overseas travels are passionately embodied in his paintings, glass sculptures and prints. The driving force of his work is to raise public awareness of sociopolitical and ecological issues. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and are collected in Europe, North, Central and South America.
The series of archival digital prints on paper are experimental work that combines original glass castings with photography and technology. The transformation allows for dramatic views of the original “glass organisms” which are based on the environment through the concept of water and light.
